Jan. 18

Boquete Mayor Manolo  Ruiz cancelled at the last moment as he was called to Panama City for a Mayor's meeting with the President.
We will try to reschedule later.
 
Bid 4 Boquete will make a short presentation of checks to the 4 beneficiary organizations:  Buenos Vecinos de Boquete, Handicap Foundation, Lions Club, and Amigos de Animales.
 
Then, open forum.


 
Jan. 25    Manuel Granados Miranda, Medical Program Manager for  
Med Services at Hospital Chiriqui will be our speaker.
Also, Henk Van der Klock and Rob Brown, founders of The International Film
Festival of Panama, will make a short presentation on the current status of the
film festival and plans for the future."
 
Feb. 1      Attorney Lourdes Miranda will talk about the Panama
social security laws regarding domestic workers.  She will advise
when a worker is considered permanent and subject to receive
social security and other benefits.  Also, she will discuss ways to
terminate a worker while avoiding a lawsuit and, other important
worker issues.

Feb. 8      Linda Wardell will be our speaker and will address U.S.
tax law. 
 
Feb. 15    Lee Zeltzer will be our speaker.  More next week.

                   Buenos Vecinos de Boquete
 
Buenos Vecinos de Boquete is a small group of volunteers who delivers
food supplies to the handicapped and elderly on a monthly basis. You can
make donations of food or money (or both) at the Tuesday meeting. For
more information, see Irene at the meeting.
 
                                      Used Book Sales
 
Well over 350 used books DVDs and CDs for sale and U.S. stamps for your 
mail. All proceeds from the book sales are equally divided between Handicap
Foundation of Boquete , Buenos Vecinos and Carolain Alvarez Concepcion
who is blind. I am now also selling Milagros Pinzon's book about Boquete
for $5.00 and Stanley Heckadon-Noreno'sbook "Naturalists on the Isthmus
of Panama for $15.00. Donations of books, Cds, DVDs, magazines and
jigsaw puzzles will be gratefully received.
