Buenos Vecinos de Boquete, our local food charity, will be the beneficiary of a Mexican Cook Off on July 24 at Las Ruinas, so mark your calendar! The fun and food start at noon until 4PM with an entry fee of $5 that allows you to taste all the treats. There will be a big raffle to try your luck, and prizes for the winning contestants in 4 categories: Best Appetizer, Best Entree, Best Dessert and Best Table Decor.
There's no charge for your entry in the cooking contest, but you need to bring your own table, disposable plates, utensils, etc, and you need to contact me to reserve a spot. There's lots of good cooks in our community, so show off your best creation. We all love (and miss) good Mexican fare!
In addition to enjoying a fun Sunday afternoon at the Cook Off, you can help support our mission to feed the elderly and handicapped by bringing non-perishable food items to the Tuesday Market/Meeting. Look for Irene at the book sale table to drop off your donation. Buenos Vecinos de Boquete's "Food of the Month" for July is dried pasta of any type in one pound bags. Of course, we appreciate any donation!
