News from Bob and Pon - settling in in their new Thai home

Good morning Boqueteños,

Over the past couple of days I have been in email contact with Bob Wolfe and Pon. You may recall that they were well known and respected members of our community during their tenure here in Boquete. Bob was involved in security matters via Alto al Crimen, and Pon was our resident, very accomplished Thai chef. They had to return to Pon's homeland recently for family reasons.

Be advised that Bob and Pon have made a safe journey to the Chiang Mai area (northwestern part of Thailand), and have now established a residence there. They are happy and healthy. Bob had never met Pon's parents previously, but did so recently. An interesting piece of information about Pon, which had never been disclosed to Bob, became a topic of discussion between Pon's parents and Bob upon their meeting. It turns out that Pon was a runway fashion model for three years starting at age 17. Pon's parents are very proud of her. With permission, a reduced quality JPG image of Pon on the runway is attached.

Bob and Pon were a significant presence here in Boquete, and their departure left a void. I am confident that you will all be happy to know that their relocation to Thailand went well, and that you join me in wishing them all the best in their new home.

I close with an extract from Bob's latest email: "...hope to see you in the Land of Smiles soon. Pon and I would be happy to be your guides."
