If You would like a "Say".....

Reply To: Erin <erinross@nerdshack.com>

This Sunday, August 7th, is your last chance to have a direct say in the way things are managed at BCP - The Boquete Community Players Foundation. We are the not-for-profit organization that manages the theater and meeting room across the bridge from town. We began five years ago as a community theater group and have been putting on entertainment of all types since that time. We have grown considerably since our humble beginning and now host the Tuesday Market plus a wide variety of events for the community. And, we still put on theater productions like the recent "Serenade, Spaghetti and Sweets" that was such a hit with those who attended last week.

It is election time and the voting will be done this Sunday at the theater complex at starting at 10:00 a.m. It will take place after a brief agenda of business items is accomplished. There are four positions open on the Council. They include Vice President, Operations Director, Creative Director and Marketing Director (specifics to be found on the website in the bylaws section). We would love to be able to fill these positions at the election. So, if you have any interest in assuring the theater remains alive and well in Boquete, please attend the meeting and volunteer or nominate someone you believe would be a good candidate.

The particulars are as follows:
  • All positions are for a one year term.
  • You must be a member (you can join or renew at the meeting) to hold office or vote.
  • You can volunteer or nominate someone at the meeting.
  • Terms start on the first of September, so you can become familiar with the position before taking it.
I am appealing especially to those of you who already work with us in various capacities or have been an integral part of our formation and growth. We need someone to step up to assure our future.
