How going green is making green for Chiriqui. Please join Isla Palenque's Client Representative, Laura Moller for a presentation on sustainable tourism efforts in your own back yard.
What is Eco Tourism? What is Adventure Travel? Per the USA TODAY, Adventure Travel is the largest growing segment of the leisure travel industry, per Forbes, 44 million U.S. hotel customers say they are concerned about the environment, and per TripAdvisor (2010), 44% of
their hotel decision makers choose to stay at environmentally-friendly hotels!
Examples of Sustainable Tourism across the world, Eco/Adventure Travelers in our region: who they are and what they do, benefits of Eco-Tourism: why it makes dollars and sense.
In addition the Alcalde will be arriving at 11:30 to answer community questions.

Aug. 23: Moderator Dianne, The New Boquete 24 hr Medical service Group (from Mae Lewis Hospital in David) will be here and will talk about the services they are providing. More later

Sept. 6: Moderator Dianne, Attorney Rainelda Mata-Kelly will be our speaker. More later.
Sept. 13: Moderator , Augusto R. Arosemena M.D. will speak on "Important Eyes Deseases": Cataract, Glaucome, Dry Eyes, and other eye problems. Come with your eye questions.
Sept 20: Moderator Lee , A Presentation about Chiriqui's Culture, Customs and Traditions, with special emphasis in each town's "patronales" and "ferias"

Buenos Vecinos de Boquete
Buenos Vecinos de Boquete is a small group of volunteers who deliver food supplies to the handicapped and elderly on a monthly basis. You can make donations of food or money (or both) at the Tuesday meeting. For more information, see Irene at the meeting.
This organization is Boquete's equivilent of the United Way. One donation for many causes. Bid4Boquete can use volunteers as much as money.
Used Book Sales
Well over 350 used books DVDs and CDs for sale and U.S. stamps
for your mail. All proceeds from the book sales are equally divided between Handicap Foundation of Boquete, Buenos Vecinos and Carolain Alvarez Concepcion who is blind.
Now also selling Milagros Pinzon's book about Boquete for $5.00 and Stanley Heckadon-Noreno's book "Naturalists on the Isthmus of Panama" for $15.00. Donations of books, Cds, DVDs, magazines and jigsaw puzzles will be gratefully received.
