Please sign this petition for change in the Panama Immigration Law

Petition to change a portion of the Jubilado/Pensionada Law for Ex-Pats is asking for your signature.

Enrique Arrocha, is planning to make a formal petition to the Panama National Assembly to change a portion of the Immigration Law for those of us who have a Jubilado Visa.

As you know, we who have a Jubilado visa, can stay here permanently, but cannot become Panama citizens, nor can we get a Cedula with a number that pertains to Panama rather than to our ever changing Passport #.
This causes much work, money, effort and concern, in addition to much running around, each time we get a new Passport. ( For some European Citizens that is every 5 years, for US folks every 10 years.)

So the Petition is to give Jubilados a non-changeable identification number for Panama, which might even allow one to apply for Panamanian citizenship after 5 years.
This will facilitate, the NOT having to change: Car ownership papers, Drivers Licenses, any banking and legal issues.

If successful this will be a change in the Panamanian Law with regards to ex-pats with a Jubilado visa ONLY.

Ex-pats married to Panamanians, Ex-Pats with working papers, Ex-Pats with Investors visas or Forestry visas, already have these Permanent # Cedula benefits.

If you are in favor of obtaining a valid forever Panamanian ID please support this effort by going to Mailboxes Etc. and signing the petition.
All the documents and signatures will be taken and presented in Panama City next week Tuesday , and the more signatures there are,  the more seriously the Panama Government will take the Petition,
so
Please take a moment and drop by Mailboxes etc. this week, All the signatures will be taken to Panama City next week Tuesday, so do it now....

The outcome of this Petition will undoubtedly take a while (a year or so) and we can only hope for the best.
