[News Boquete] Tuesday at the BCP (Rhubarb Cobbler, Shrimp Etouffee, European Meatlof, New Your Bagels, and More!!)

This is your weekly update email for what will be available at the BCP this coming Tuesday (8-6-13).

We are bringing back this week the European Meatloaf dinner as well as the Rhubarb and Strawberry Cobbler.  The Labneh went so fast last week that it left our head spinning so we will also have the Labneh..  New this week is the Cajun Shrimp Etoufee!  Check out the description below.  If you don’t have time to cook or need a meal quickly then be sure to try some of our prepared dinners.  All meals are prepared from scratch using only the freshest ingredients.  We hope you like our selections.  Check out our testimonials at the end of this message.

This week we will have many varieties of bagels.  We are increasing the number of savory bagels as it seems these are the more popular ones.  Here is what we will have:

No Pre-Orders on the Bagels. First come first serve.

Blueberry

Cinnamon Raisin

Sesame Seed

Poppy Seed

Onion Top

Sundried Tomato and Kalamata Olives

The Everything (Sea Salt, Poppy Seed, Sesame Seed, Onion, and Garlic)

 The Asiago Cheese Bagel

New this week we will have a limited amount of Cajun Shrimp EtouffeeThis dish is made by creating a blonde roux.  After adding the trinity and the flour we pour our homemade shrimp/seafood stock slowly to create a thick gravy.  A bit thicker than a stew.  Cajun Seasonings and shrimp later and you have your authentic Louisiana Etouffee.  Each portion will need to be served over rice.  Rice not included.

Joe is bringing back his wonderfully prepared meal from his Italian Restaurant.  European Meatloaf smothered in a brown gravy with steamed Broccoli and  cream sauce covered Potatoes.  This meal will be prepared and flash frozen so that all you have to do is reheat and serve.  Perfect for a quick hearty meal with very little mess.  This is considered an extra large single serving dinner or 2 medium servings.

From Joe’s Kitchen he will have available his Italian Meat Lasagna which is made with 3 types of meat (veal, homemade Italian Sausage, and ground beef), homemade ricotta cheese, and homemade lasagna sauce.  The right amount of herbs and spices gives this traditional Italian Lasagna a real taste of the old country.

Joe has decided to keep the Grilled Gluten Free Egg Plant Parmesan on the menu this week.  This delicious Egg Plant dish is simple and loaded with flavor.  Great for the vegetarian looking to mix it up a bit.  It’s also great for the Carnivore looking to try something new.  Joe only uses fresh eggplant and with a hint of seasonings and a touch of olive oil he grills this nightshade to perfection.  Tender, soft, and loaded with flavor.

Thai Chicken Penang is always a crowd favorite.  This regional dish from Thailand is served with fresh cut keffir lime leaves and peanuts.  Serve over potatoes, noodles, or rice to get that authentic Thai taste that you’ll never find at any restaurant here in town.

***NEW THIS WEEK***

Overstuffed Mexican Beef Burritos.  This great dish is perfect for you if you enjoy Mexican food.  This burrito is prepared in layers and it all starts with the Mexican Rice.  This slightly fried rice is cooked in our chicken stock as we add tomatoes, onions, garlic, and jalapenos (De-seeded).  Next we add authentic Mexican cooked ground beef.  Adding potatoes, bell peppers, tomatoes, garlic, onions, and some seasonings turns this ordinary meat into something extraordinary.  A touch of homemade salsa and some wonderful creamy cheese in the middle of this burrito makes it a little tough to close.  We are officially OVERSTUFFED!  But wait.  We have room on the top!!!  We cover the top with freshly ground mild cheddar and mozzarella cheese and smother the entire thing with our mole inspired burrito sauce.  Each burrito weights about1 lb.  2 per container

Overstuffed Mexican Chicken Burritos:  I am personally so excited to be introducing this dish to all this week.  This Burrito is truly a gourmet burrito.  One unlike you have ever eaten in your life.  We start with a delicately prepared bed of Mexican Rice. We then add sautéed bell peppers and onions that have been slightly seasoned and softened.  Our homemade tomato salsa comes next as our bed is now ready.  Finally we lay to rest our perfectly grilled fajita cooked chicken breast that has been covered in our special 3 cheese blend.  We are now officially OVERSTUFFED!!!   But Wait!  There’s still the top.  Over the top we smother our burritos with a homemade creamy mushroom sauce.  This mushroom sauce has been made with fresh Portobello, crimini, and button mushrooms.  We then garnish that with fresh diced tomatoes and onions from our organic garden.  Each Burrito weighs over1 lb and there are 2 burritos on every order..  Feeds 2 people.

Labneh Fresh Cheese: This wonderful spreadable cheese is made a few nights before the market.  Utilizing fresh yogurt and whole raw milk Joe is able to make a spreadable cheese that still reflects all of the qualities of a true yogurt flavor but maintaining the properties of a fresh cheese. Absolutely Delicious!!! One would generally use this spread on bagels, breads, sandwiches, pita bread, crackers etc.  Each container is a 5oz container.

This week we will only have a limited supply of Labneh.

From The Oven:

Back by Popular Demand… Southern Rhibarb and Strawberry Cobbler: This wonderful cobbler topped with a Brown Betty Crumble will have your mouth watering as you take it out of the oven.  Loaded with rhubarb and strawberries, a hint of ginger, cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg you will enjoy every bite.  Serve with some ice cream or by its self this cobbler stands alone.

Finally we will continue to make our Extra Moist Banana Walnut Bread Loaf.  This 8th wonder is made 8 hours prior to the opening of the market on Tuesday.  It doesn’t get any fresher.  Each bite is loaded with walnuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, and bananas.  The way that we prepare this bread and the manner in which we cook it allows for the loaf to retain most of its moisture giving you a product that will surpass all of your expectations.  Serve with whip cream, ice cream, coffee, a nice liquor, or by itself.

**If you would like a Banana Walnut Bread please let me know before the market as we tend to sell out each week**

White Baguette.  This is the simple French Baguette that captures the qualities in a great bread.  A nice flakey crust with a dense bready inside.  Cooked in a wood fired brick oven this baguette will hold up in soups, toast perfectly, and freeze like a champ if you need to store these baguettes for long term.

I just wanted to write you an email to let you know that your mushroom smothered chicken burritos are amazing.  I was hesitant to try them at first but I am sure glad I did.  I loved the flavor.  I was also impressed by how much food there was.  I almost couldn’t finish my portion.

Please keep them on the menu,

Georgia
