[News Boquete] Math program at Library - Mondays and Wednesdays


Boquete Library Math Program

 

The Boquete Library is launching a new Mathematics Program is to help local students understand the importance of mathematics in the real world and improve their mathematical skills.  

Instructors:

Ms. Ellen Bolton:  Ms. Bolton is certified to teach Secondary Mathematics in Texas and previously taught Algebra, Geometry, and Consumer Math. She has a BS in Mathematics and MA in Interdisciplinary Studies.  Ms. Bolton also has 30 years of experience in various positions in the field of industrial automation.

Mr. Ross Blankert:  Mr. Blankert is certified to teach Secondary Math and Secondary Business in Texas and previously taught Algebra and Geometry   He has a BBA in Business Statistics and a BS in Vocational Education Training and Development. Mr. Blankert is also a licensed engineer and worked as a merchant marine officer on ships all over the world. He was also a Naval Nuclear Power mechanical operator in the US Navy.

Sample Topics:

·        Mathematics Vocabulary in Spanish and English

·        Percentages, Fractions, and Decimals

·        Understanding and Using Graphs

·        Estimating

·        Algebra

·        Geometry

·        Statistics

 

Started  August 12 - But it is not too late to join

 

Mondays:  3:00-4:00 p.m.

Wednesdays:  10:00-11:00 a.m.

Additional time for assistance is available upon request.

Interested students may get additional information and enroll in the program at the front desk of the library.
