Hola from Finca Santa Marta,
Kim and I are glad to be back in Panama and are excited about the many changes happening at Finca Santa Marta.
First of all, our long time Manager, Tino, who many of you know as the go to guy, at Do It Center, before he started working for us in 2008, has retired. We wish him all the best. He will continue on with us as a part time consultant.
Our new General Manager's name is Richard M. Sanchez R. He comes to us with 2 college degrees, the latest is in Tropical Agriculture. He is knowledgable about what we are doing at FSM and is very excited to be a part of our team. Along with Tomas Garcia, our Production Manager, he will be working hard to expand production to meet the growing demand and to offer many new products in the future.
We are just finishing up with all the official permits etc. for our new chicken processing area. Nothing comes easy in Panama but we think the end result will be worth the time and money expended. In the near future we will offer not only frozen whole and cut up chickens but also the opportunity to buy individual chicken pieces: breasts, leg quarters, wings and backs (for soup). Also we plan to offer fresh chicken (not frozen) on a special orders basis. If you have not tried our tasty, free range chickens, why not order one or two today for pickup at the Tuesday Morning Market.
To place an order for pickup at the Tuesday Market, just register at our web site, http://www.fincasantamarta.biz/. Questions? Phone me at 6459-5218 (7 am - 7 pm) or email me through the web site.
Tomatoes are back. Both large slicers and romas for sauce. These Premium "Near Organic" tomatoes are ripened to suit your tastes. Again please place your order to make sure you get some on Tuesday.
Did someone say they wanted some "HOT" peppers? We have a good supply of Fatali yellow peppers available now. They are extra hot if that's the way you like them.
Turmeric is a great item to add to you diet to improve your health. We have plenty of fresh available right now.
If you are looking to add some healthy organic green sot you diet we can supply you with freshly harvested collard greens and kale. Bok Choy is another favorite that we have available each Tuesday.
Our Egg Plant is just starting to produce and we should have some nice variety available soon. Fresh Ginger and Galangal are other items that we grow all the time. And don't forget our delicious "maƱana bananas". When eaten ripe, (no green on the stem) they have a slight apple flavor mixed in with the banana taste. Freeze some and then puree for some great banana "ice cream".
We have a good supply of local organic coconut oil available now. These are available in 16 oz. containers. We now offer a discount 10% on 10 or more units.
Thanks for your continued support of our organic farm. We offer the largest variety of locally grown, fresh, organic produce in Chiriqui. Go Organic. You can taste the difference and it is better for you.

Hasta martes,
Ron and Kim Miller and the entire FSM crew
PanamaRon
