New Year News from La Playa

HAPPY 2015!!

Here we are at another brand New Year. Now that the fireworks have died down and the celebrations somewhat lulled, we can afford to take pause for taking stock of things. If you are anything like me, you will be setting yourself some life directions for 2015. NEWSPAPER DESIGN & NEW WEBSITE

For us here at Playacommunity, we are starting the new year with a new look The front cover of La Playa Newspaper has changed. Pick up a copy at a restaurant or location near you to take a look. Also we have a website that has been successfully upgraded. Most of the changes have taken place in the back end, where we administer the site, however the are some changes that will effect you.

1. We no longer have a left side menu column on the front page. All the menu options are now found from the top menu.

2. The classifieds are no longer free for commercial users. If you doing a business, there is a small voluntary payment of $5 per ad for posting your classified. For folks who have For personal users, the classifieds are still free. Go right ahead

3. There is no more Discussion Forum. It wasn't used very much and was subject to a lot of spam. If you need to get a message across to people, put in a classified.

As always there is lots to do at the beaches. Happy Hours, exercise classes, card games, church and more. If you are looking for something to do, check out our Events Calendar first. Here are a few things coming up, that we would like to bring your attention to:

Calling all Birders

Conservation Panama is doing a Bird Count here at the beaches. We need a minimum of 12 volunteers to join the count on Sunday Jan 18th. Meet up is at 6am at Playacommunity Office in the Rincon del Chef Plaza. To register contact Zeke at: ezekieljakub@gmail.com. He is often out in the bush doing field work with limited internet access. So if he doesn't get back to you right away, wait. He always responds. More on the bird count here:

Business Networking Meeting

There is a new weekly Business Networking meeting started in Gorgona at BluWater Bistro in the Bahia Towers. Meeting starts at 8:15am and is held every Tuesday. More on that here:
