On Monday evening I put out a request for some assistance in acquiring some tools to use to teach a young handicapped boy some basic carpentry skills at La Fondacion. I have to say I was so impressed and overwhelmed by the generous response I received from the local community. On my way to the BCP on Tuesday morning I received a call from one gentleman who promised me a selection of tools and a call from another gentleman that offered to open his personal workshop to one to two boys at a time.
I had not been at the BCP for more than about 10 minutes when I was approached by another gentleman who said that he did not have any tools to donate but he handed me some cash to buy tools or supplies. Also at the BCP I was offered a container of nails and those will be delivered by the donor to a Fondacion volunteer.
Today I picked up a bag of very serviceable tools, as promised and then I used the donated money to purchase a hand saw, a selection of chisels to supplement the chisel that came with the bag of tools and several sheets of sandpaper of different grades. THANK YOU to those responsible for making this happen!!
Also during the week I did find a couple of pieces of discarded hardwood and already have the first project in mind. But to continue this effort it would be great to get some additional items. Here is my new list:
If you have any of these items and could drop them by The Handicap Foundation on any Saturday morning between 9 and midday that would be phenomenal. I am afraid I don't have any transportation at the moment except the local buses so picking up these supplies is a bit of a challenge.
Thank you for any assistance you can offer in acquiring these items

- Odd ceramic tiles - left over from your construction projects - even partial tiles would be great
- Tile grout
- A tile cutter
- Construction adhesive
- Wood glue
- Wood offcuts - including 1/4" or thicker plywood
- Left over but useable paints and varnish.
