Natural News is a science-based natural health advocacy organization whose key mission is to empower consumers with factual information about the synthetic chemicals, heavy metals, hormone disruptors and other chemicals found in foods, medicines, personal care products, children's toys and other items.
The organization conducted independent studies which tested popular off-the-shelf water filters for the removal of heavy metals and toxic elements from water, including the removal of heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, arsenic and mercury as well as elements that have radioactive isotopes such as strontium, cesium and uranium.

The organization's founder, Mike Adams, stated that he felt very good about the integrity of their process of testing and then selecting a water filter to represent, knowing that they waited for the lab results before choosing an affiliate partner and knowing that they are now promoting the filter which clearly has a superior ability to protect consumers from toxic elements. Unlike other promoters who conduct no laboratory testing whatsoever, we meticulously tested every popular filter brand on the market before deciding what to recommend.
He also stated that for the record, neither himself nor Natural News received any compensation nor free product for conducting these tests. All products were purchased at retail. No attempt was made to request payment of any kind from the manufacturers of these products for the testing conducted here. He is aware there are other labs that conduct similar tests and then request payment from manufacturers, but Natural News did not pursue such arrangements.
