[News Boquete] BIG THANK YOU TO THE COMMUNITY. WE MADE OUR GOAL

I know the amount of emails asking for help has perhaps been a bit overwhelming, but I wanted to take one last opportunity to say THANK YOU to the expat community of Boquete for coming together once again, and helping those local children in need.

 

This morning with the help of Cathy and Larry, Christina, Mary Ellen we were collecting donations at the Tuesday Market for about 2 hours, in which we met our goal of collecting the funds needed in order to supply a full set of uniform for the children of Los Naranjos Elementary School. Thanks to the generous help of the community we are going to be able to provide 1 full uniform (shirt and skirt or pants), 1 pair of black uniform shoes, 1 pair of white sneakers and 1 full P. E. uniform. We collected a total of $4014.95, which surpass the amount needed. The extra monies collected will be used towards other school supplies and donated to the school.

 

We must point out that we stopped our collections at 10:30 a.m. because of the great support we received. THANK YOU to everyone who donated, some names I know, some names I do not know, but I would like to make a special mention to Mr & Mrs Jim and Chelle Finch who are part time residents of Boquete and contributed the amount of $3,000 helping us make and surpass our goal. WE CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH.

 

If you missed us but still would like to donate, please stop by the school of office of Representative of Los Naranjos and deliver your school supplies (notebooks, pencils, paper, crayons, backpacks), those kids are forever greatful of any help they get.
