1. Events and Get-Togethers Around the World

Jazz it up!

In Nice, October is the time to Jazz it up! We meet on Tuesday,
October 16th, to enjoy a drink and the music of the Hungarian singer
Laura Riz and the guitarist Zsolts Boltos. In addition, there will be
an Argentinean Tango demonstration and the chance to choose from a
delicious tapas menu. This upcoming week, our Local Community in Al
Ain is hosting its very first, not to mention a very special, event.
On Wednesday, October 17th, you get to benefit from
buy-one-get-one-free drinks special, hot and cold canapés, and musical
entertainment provided by a Latino Band. In addition, there will be a
raffle and the chance to win amazing prizes. Come around and meet
other expats at the Al Ain Launch Event.

Our Brussels Ambassadors Maria and Xavier are celebrating their
one-year anniversary on Thursday, October 18th. As it is a very
special occasion, we invite all of you to join us for a drink and for
some great music. Will we meet you at the Brussels October
Get-Together? Of course, we also have something special planned for
our Local Community in Santiago. On Saturday, October 20th, we would
like to invite you to Santiago's Diplomatic Gala, which is organized
by the Diplomatic Ladies Association and supported by InterNations.
There will be a special musical performance and an orchestra
accompanying the event. There is also an after hours party from
11:30pm onwards, complete with two bars, a DJ, and a lounge to rest
your feet.

Although it is still a little way down the road, you should not
hesitate to sign up for the Ras Al-Khaimah Khasab-Musandam Trip,
scheduled on Saturday, October 27th. You can register until Saturday,
October 20th, for this event and enjoy a full-day Dhow cruise together
with other InterNations members. We will provide you with an
English-speaking guide and a transfer from Ras Al-Khaimah to Khasab.
You should not miss out on this Eid weekend get-away!

2. InterNations Activities

Tea, Brunch, and Cocktails

Are you an avid tea drinker who is also curious about the Chinese tea
tradition? Then why not join the Shanghai Afternoon Tea Club! On
Sunday, October 21st, the group meets for a Chinese Tea Tasting to
learn more about the culture around the making and tasting of this
traditional beverage. Maybe you will make some new friends along the
way! Alternatively, you can join our Istanbul Weekend Brunches Group.
The October 2012 Brunch takes place on Sunday, October 14th, and is
the perfect opportunity to enjoy both delicious Turkish food and the
company of fellow expats.

Expats who like both quizzes and beer can never go wrong with joining
the Vienna Monday Night Pub Quiz Group. The group meets for a Pub Quiz
at the Four Bells on Monday, October 15th. The Quiz will be both in
German and English and will cover politics, science, history, pop
culture, and other topics. On Friday, October 19th, our members in
Amsterdam get the chance to combine an evening of networking with some
relaxed cocktail-drinking. The Amsterdam Cocktails and Networking
Hours Group meets at a fabulous venue to enjoy some drinks, chat, and
network. So come on by and join us for this upcoming Cocktails and
Networking Hour.
