[News Boquete] Newest Update on the DIP Vehicle and Donations

Dearest Friends of the Boquete Police: 

I finally have news, lots of news!  Starting last Thursday I received a request for parts needed and invoices from Excel Automotriz, Nissan,  Panamena de Motores, S.A., CRC Import S.A., Centro de Repuesto Chiriqui, and the machine shop for a total of $2040.18.  We had so far collected $1785.23.  All has been paid as we advanced the donation collection.  There are a few more things to fix on the vehicle that we will be informed of by Value Motors.  This is a 2008 Diesel 4x4 Nissan Frontera and will virtually be working like a new vehicle when we have completed it.  It is not like we are doing minor, shoddy fixes and this vehicle will be in need of repair in a matter of months.  Since it has been all taken apart, we might just as well fix it correctly, and all of it this first time.  I have had four other couples offer to pitch in when we know the total of all repairs, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that!  You all have been simply wonderful in contributing to the safety of our entire Boquete community by donating to this project which benefits all and allows our under-cover police the tools to work with to protect us, one and all.  By the way, my apologies, had been misinformed by another that DIP stands for Department of Investigations of Panama and instead it stands for Dirrecion of Police Intelligence.  I promise to report more when I know more.  Again, I offer my sincerest thanks!
