"I am recently retired from business and moved from my home in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica where, in addition to painting, I worked as the curator of crocodilians at an animal rescue center. Interesting place, but the ultra high humidity in the jungle was causing mold growth on my art supplies and equipment. Had to get out and found Boquete. Been here since mid July and love it.
In the past I was a bronze sculptor, but now concentrate solely on painting. I paint in acrylic, oil and oil pastels. My subjects range from abstract to wildlife and pretty much everything in between. I like to study color theory and mix most of my own colors including black from a fairly limited palette. I look forward to sharing my thoughts about oil pastels with the group."
Join us to welcome Mike and listen to what he has to share on working with oil pastels. Please bring any art that you are working on and would like to share or discuss with the group. Depending on the time available, we will show an educational video on impressionism.
We look forward to seeing you on Friday.
Thank You,
The Boquete Artworks Board
