[Noticias] 52 animals sterilized Saturday and Sunday

We sterilized another 52 animals this past weekend, Saturday, 10 dogs were sterilized in Potrerillos by Dr. Sandy with the help of Marion Torgany.  Most were street dogs.  On Sunday, another 32 dogs and 10 cats were sterilized.  Two of the female dogs had horrible venereal cancerous tumors which were removed by Dr. Andres Tello from Costa Rica.  These occur often with street dogs and are passed from dog to dog and from mother dog to puppies.  To date we have sterilized over 2800 animals from our humble beginnings in 2005.

Thanks to the many volunteers who came out in spite of a very busy weekend in Boquete.  Our volunteers and animal collectors are the only reason these clinics are so successful(okay, vets too!).  Help us help the community by donating at the Tuesday Morning Meeting, Adopting local animals(we are overcrowded and really need help right now!) and becoming a member.  Contact Carole Newsome for adoptions or to help with fostering 6582-9288; Contact Carol Santana to become a member, 6646-7289 and Joan James or Martha Miranda to set up feeding stations in your neighborhood 6825-9247 or 6524-1803.  If we feed them, we can catch them and sterilize them.

Our next clinic is Sunday March 27 at our little office next to Amigos de Boquete.  For reservations call Jessica at 6563-8686 or email her at boqueteanimales@gmail.com.  Together we ARE making a difference.  Ruby McKenzie, President and Founder , FundaciĆ³n Amigos de los Animales, Boquete  www.fadab.org   6671-3021
