On Wednesday, March 23 the US Consular service will be in Boquete from 9am to 12 noon at the Hotel Panamonte. Remember, in general, the US Embassy is to care for government to government relations while the Consular service is to care for US Citizens needs.
Accordingly, the Consular folks will be able to provide Notary services, passport renewals, insert additional passport pages, and record births of new US citizens. They should also be able to take your questions about Social Security issues and provide an intelligent answer within a few days. They will NOT handle visa issues.
For those of you who have struggled with the telephone menu at the Consulate, this is your one big chance to actually talk, face to face, with a warm body!
Latter in the day, there is a possibility that the Ambassador will also visit us, 12:45 to 2 pm. At this point, this is only a possibility.
