How can osteopathy improve the quality of my life?

Osteopathy can treat both acute pain (e.g. from a current injury) and chronic pain (caused by past injuries or health problems). With osteopathy you can find and treat injured muscles, ligaments, nerves and joints. The osteopathic treatment helps the body to function as a balanced and efficient system causing minimum wear and tear. Because of this your body will function better and have more energy.

 

The osteopathic treatment is gentle and non-invasive. Stretches, gentle joint mobilization and massage-like techniques are used to remove imbalances in mobility. The cranio sacral (osteopathic) therapy is another technique used to rebalance ligaments and strains throughout the body.

 

How can osteopathy help with arthritis?

Osteopathy can help to ease pain, reduce swelling, decrease joint stiffness and restore some joint mobility caused by arthritis. The treatment aims to improve the mobility of arthritic joints as far as possible. In addition associated joints and tissues also get treatment to ensure that they are functioning well enough to take the extra strain and compensate for the damaged joints. As the osteopathic treatment leads to improved condition less medication for pain relieving is needed. With less medication there are fewer side effects such as gastritis.

How can osteopathy help for headaches and migraines?

Headaches and migraines are often caused by nerve irritation from tension in the muscles and bones. The osteopathic treatment improves joint mobility and reduces muscle tension.  The result is improved blood supply and drainage from the head and therefore reduced nerve irritation. This leads to improvement of the headaches and migraines.
