Urgent: RELIEF DONATIONS NEEDED

The Soloy community in the Comarca (Ngobe-Bugle reservation) was hit badly by another flood Saturday. At least 26 houses were affected.

 

The Rotary Club of Boquete is organizing a two-day relief effort by collecting and delivering the most needed supplies:

 

Blankets and bedding

 

Clothing (all sizes, both genders)

 

Basic household items like flatware, cooking pots, plastic plates and cups, etc. (no electrical items)

 

School Supplies such as pencils, pens, crayons

(our club will donate 100 Rotary cuardernos - notebooks)

 

Monetary donations will be used to purchase milk, eggs, water, rice, beans, etc. on the trips to deliver collected items.

 

We will be collecting items on Monday and Tuesday of this week (October 10-11).

 

We are asking that our community respond to this two-day drive for needed relief items and money by bringing your donations to Chiriqui River Rafting - one flight above street level in the Lourdes restaurant building, diagonally across from the central park. Chiriqui River Rafting is the last office along the railing on the Calle Central side of the building. The office is open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, except for one hour from 1:00 - 2:00 PM.

 

Donations will be delivered on Wednesday morning of this week. We may need an additional pick-up truck to go with us. Please contact Hector Sanchez, 6879-4382, if you would be able to help with this. And we will coordinate with other collection efforts in Boquete.
