THIS WEEK :  Hans Lebuser will be discussing the Boquete Jazz Festival. Ask not what the Jazz festival can do for you, ask what you can do for the Jazz Festival. Then when listening to  the music warms your ears your heart can feel even better. Sponsored by Panini's in the Mist. 


October 11: Lic. Ernesto Vaughan will provide a introduction to the history of Panama, a great start to the National Holidays starting in November. 

October 18:  Price Peterson will do a presentation on the Noriega years in Panama. This is appropriate with the return of the ex-dictator.

October 25: Puerto Armullles, a presentation of past, present and future for this historic Banana capital city. Harry Hunt will do the presentation.

November presentations will be about Panama. It is the month of Panamas patriotic festivals and all month we will be hearing about Panama. So far three topics have been selected. A history of the Boquete District, Culinaria Panamania and a history of the Canal Zone. I am still looking for a speaker current politics in Panama.

November 1  Ryan Grassley, Half Throttle with video adventure in Panama for the coach potatoes

November 8:  Lauretta Bonfiglio The cuisine of Panama. Cooking that you do not find in a typico.

November  15:  Rodrigo Marciacq The history of the Boquete District and how it evolved into what it is today.

November 22 -  Robert Boyd on the Zonian experience. The history of the Panama Canal Zone and how it has affected the Panama you know today.

November 29: Open

December  - I am looking for a speaker on the Christmas traditions of Panama, any other speakers on more indigenous traditions would be welcome also

December 6, 13 are open

There will be no speakers from December 20 - Jan 3. We will start again January 1oth.

January 2012: January is Health month, always a good start after the holidays. I am looking for speakers on topics like nutrition, painless exercise, drinking rum without a hangover and other related topics. If you wish to speak about the topic, not your business, I want you. Please email me.

Feb. 7, 2012 Linda Wardell will speak on the subject of USA Taxes what's new and what not to forget. You can contact Linda at linda.wardell@yahoo.com

March is Tourism month and I am looking for speakers on what to do in Boquete if you are not a couch potato

Buenos Vecinos de Boquete
Buenos Vecinos de Boquete is a small group of volunteers who deliver food supplies to the handicapped and elderly on a monthly basis. You can make donations at the Tuesday meeting. For more information, see Irene at the meeting.

Visit at www.bid4boquete.com This organization is Boquete's equivilent of the United Way. One donation for many causes. Bid4Boquete can use volunteers as much as money.

Used Book Sales
Well over 350 used books DVDs and CDs for sale and U.S. stamps
for your mail. All proceeds from the book sales are equally divided between Handicap Foundation of Boquete, Buenos Vecinos and Carolina Alvarez Concepcion who is blind. Now also selling Milagros Pinzon's book about Boquete for $5.00 and Stanley Heckadon-Noreno's book "Naturalists on the Isthmus of Panama" for $15.00. Donations of books, Cds, DVDs, magazines and jigsaw puzzles will be gratefully received.

Amigos de los Animales, the group that sterilizes, provides feeding stations and supports the rescue and adoption of dogs and cats is always looking for dog and cat food and monetary donations for medicines as well as clinics.  See Carole, Cat, or Heather at the "animales" booth near the auditorium door for your donations.  Do a good deed and foster or adopt a rescued animal.  Check our web site for more information.  www.fadab.org   Click on the Adopt Me button to see the wonderful animals available.
