Help again

Reply To: Vicki Whittle <vickiwhittle@me.com>

         Dear peoples of Boquete

Thankyou for amazing response to request for a tent. That was awesome, and I have what I need. Organisers need four large sun umbrellas to protect the merchandising stand. Is there anyone out there in Boqueteland who would be willing to loan for the duration of the festival. There were some amazing ladys who made brownies and treats to sell for Bid4Boquete's Sunday patio sale, I have Mendi doing some brownies, but would love more of the same or similar, since I have 30 muscos, and our hardworking volunteer crew who need feeding and treats. I can't bake to save myself, so if there are any lovely ladies out there who would help with this, that would be awesome. Thanks so much

       Kiwi Vicki

Another Salsa Night on March 3 at 7:00pm

Reply To: Nevia Mayers <neviamayers@me.com>

Join us Saturday night at 7:00pm March 3 for another night of Salsa at our place on El Salto.
We had such an amazing response last Friday that we attracted the attention of another national champion (2008) Jorge Rivas. Jorge has been competing representing Panama for the last 8 years at the world salsa open in Puerto Rico. He took 4th place with his group in 2009. He owns the largest salsa academy in Panama. This should be a fun festive night!!! Starting at 7:00 PM with a 1 hour basic class followed by an intermediate class and social dancing where you will have a chance to dance with Jorge or his partner Yaris. Come and watch them dance, it's spectacular. Invite your friends. $10 for the entire evening.
Even if you don't have a partner come and we will partner you with someone, we rotate partner anyway to have experience dancing with other people, it's super fun!  We will make sure that the intermediate class is not too advance this time...
Please RSVP as soon as possible:

More photos of volcanos in Central America - with the link

Reply To: Mark Heyer <markh@heyertech.com>

For those of you who attended the very interesting talk Tuesday by Professor Peter Bormann on the volcanos of Nicaragua and Central America, I thought you might enjoy some additional pictures from our recent car tour over Christmas to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala.

As Dr. Bormann described, the countryside and people are beautiful and you are never out of sight of a volcano.

Enjoy,
Mark Heyer

This is one of the volcanos ringing Antigua, Guatemala, where we resided for a month. Taken from our terrace. There were dozens of eruptions per day and at night, we could see the red fountain of lava and red hot rocks running down the sides of the volcano.

ReAL Boquete" suggests that you Recycle your License Plate

Reply-To: Tracy and Andy Hallen <athallen@yahoo.com>

We get a new license plate for our cars every year.  What do you do with the old one?
Did you know it could be recycled?

Next time you change plates, don't throw the old one in the trash.  Bring it to our recycling center, thereby helping the world save energy and natural resources, and Boquete save space in the landfill.

And 2 reminders.  Please ---
- Do not bring trash to the center
- Do not leave anything outside our doors when we are closed.
- And all recyclable materials should be clean and compacted.
We appreciate your support.

Andy

Some questions to ponder......
Why do we bake cookies and cook bacon?
If a man with multiple personalities threatens to kill himself, would it be considered a hostage situation?
If a turtle does not have a shell on, is he homeless or naked?

Wake up Boquete

Reply To: Hans-J. Lebuser <info@boquetejazzandbluesfestival.com>

Wake up Boquete....

there's a great Jazz&Blues festival coming your way!

Only three days to go but we've only sold about 50% of the tickets we need to sell to break even!

Wake up Boquete....you won't get another festival ever if you're not embracing this one.

Wake up Boquete.... and buy your festival tickets NOW!

Here's a truly incredible deal for y'all:

Craig Jacobs, owner of Las Ruinas and the Bistro restaurants has offered to further support the festival with a generous contribution of $ 5 for each ticket bought at the Bistro ($3 for each ticket for the Betty Bryant show at the BCP on Thursday, March 1st).

This means that you get your festival tickets for $ 5 less if you buy them at the Bistro ($3 less for the Betty Bryant show)!

Go get them tickets while they last!

It won't get any better than that!

We'll kick off the festival on Thursday, March 1st with a New Orleans-style street parade with the Smoking Time Jazz Club, an original New Orleans street band flown in from New Orleans. Everybody's invited to take part in the parade, with or without costumes. Throw mardi gras beads, dance in the streets and all….. This is going to be great fun!

We'll set up the parade at the BCP parking lot starting a 12noon (there'll also be face painters!), and then walk over the bridge to central park where we'll join the band who will take the lead. We'll then march towards main street, and up main street towards the Panamonte hotel. The parade will be followed by a garden party at the hotel with the Smoking Time Jazz Club, original New Orleans hurricanes and New Orleans style finger food….

Come all and join the parade! Let's turn Boquete into a small New Orleans y'all!

For your safety and comfort during the festival please observe the following guidelines for the open-air festival at the Valle Escondido amphitheater:

Since we're at an elevation of 3000ft, and it's summertime you should take great care of appropriate sun protection. Protective sun lotion, a hat or a small umbrella are highly adviseable.

-       Keep yourself hydrated! You may bring a bottle of water, and there will be plenty of water for sale.  Coolers will not be allowed in the amphitheatre.

-       Food and drinks will be supplied by the Valle Escondido restaurants at very reasonable prizes. You'll support the festival with every purchase since we'll get a share of the income from food and beverages sales.

-       Although we're in the dry season there's always the possibility of Boquete's speciality, the Bajareque. It's a fine drizzle generated by the clouds drifting into the valley which often creates beautiful rainbows. Evenings may be crisp and cool so bring a light jacket.

-       Bring a seat cushion for your seating comfort. The seating rows of the amphitheater are covered with grass with a rim of stone in the front. You may also use a small, low-back folding chair for your seating comfort.

-       Parking space at Valle Escondido is limited. Please leave your car in town and use our little street train which will be shuttling between the center of town and Valle Escondido.

-       There's no restriction for taking pictures or videos but please don't obstruct the view of your fellow festival visitors.

-       Please don't bring pets to the amphitheater.

-       Don't forget to support the festival and take home memories by buying our merchandise. Please also take a look at the goods that our local vendors offer in front of the festival venue!

Have a wonderful time at the Boquete Jazz&Blues Festival!

What Some Members of the Community Have Said :

"I have never experienced a more gentle, yet concise form of healing. When dealing with "old stuff" or recurrent patterns, i have found Jason Kerr's Shamanic methodology to be both highly effective and profoundly illuminating. While working with Jason, I've enjoyed the experience of a much more elegant process, with much more authentic resolution, compared to other more traditional self improvement or therapeutic journeys. I am very grateful that his work is available here in Panama, as this work now will affect the rest of my life with more joy, and certainly, better relationships." B.L.

"Working with Jason has changed my life. Things which previously felt difficult and stagnant are now moving freely. I feel empowered, inspired, and clear in my direction. My spirit has recieved an exquisite enlivening, a deep energetic cleansing, making room for my authentic Beingness to radiate from within. Jason walks a very real and powerful path of healing and enlightenment. I feel honored and blessed to work with him." :) L.L.

"Jason offers healing and transformation on a magnificently subtle level. The work that we have done together is profound, using ancient techniques to release harmful energies and to open the body to receive healing. Working with Jason has allowed me to experience myself and the world around me in completely new and yet natural ways." –Louisa Normington

"It was the most illuminating life changing experience that I have ever had in 20 years of energy work" - Scott Thomas

"Working with Jason has allowed me to clearly address, move through, and heal ailments on every level of my being. His natural calling is healing, and his intuitive abilities have allowed me tremendous unlocking and transformation on both the physical and non-physical level. It has been an honor and gift to work with such a skilled healer." L.L.

After having my first visit with Jason, a 10 year old condition which caused me to see a chiropractor each week has now disappeared.  I had no idea what the cause of this condition was until Jason explored with me the energy surrounding it, and supported me in clearing this negative energy from my body. What a blessing he has been to me. This was only the first visit and the subsequent visits have been equally amazing. I am thankful for all his knowledge in his many fields of holistic healing. He is also a great teacher to learn these same techniques that he uses so we too can use them on ourselves.      Kenna

"Dealing with Jason has been great for my health.  He really impresses me as a knowledgeable, honest, respectful, profoundly spiritual and sincere Holistic practitioner.  He is thorough in dealing with my physical and emotional problems.  He looks for ways to help me and does research concerning my conditions.  Just recently after I came back from a cruise in a pitiful state of pain he knew precisely what to do to deal with it.  I left the session more relaxed, at peace and able to cope with life.  He is like a doctor, being able to diagnose without invasive methods.  He is continually studying his field to give his patients the benefit of superb care and I feel he is always looking out for what is best for me. " A.B.

My sessions with Jason were phenomenal and were critical to opening passageways to the spirit world and my spirit guides and allowing me to access my intuition and personal power.   Prior to the sessions I was feeling very "stuck" and his healing helped me to tap into memories and understand the connection between the past and the present. I was able to release some emotions that were blocking me from moving forward on my life path. I feel very blessed to have met Jason on my journey. - E.H.
"I had several sessions with Jason during a recent trip to Boquete. My experience was very positive, the release of old, trauma-related energy made a noticeable, and immediate, difference in my physical and emotional bodies. Jason is able to tune into to the blocks and issues which are creating them at a deep level. I will work with him again next time I am in Boquete." B. Bowen
