Manolito first price Princes Cristhina Concours

Reply To: Bud Huber <bud.huber@grommet.net>

Many of us Boqueteños warmly remember Manuel and Manolito Sanguino as former residents (close neighbor in my case). Manolito is the child prodigy on the piano and saxophone. He brought joy to us with his musical skills that are so extraordinary for a person of his young age (but then that is the definition of prodigy, duh). Manuel and Manolito relocated to Holland in the summer of 2011 in order to take advantage of a scholarship that Manolito had won at a musical conservatory. Manolito's final performance in Boquete was in May 2011.

Forwarded below (with permission) is a message just received from Manuel regarding yet another "win" by Manolito. He participated in a musical competition in Enschede, Netherlands, and won first prize. You can read Manuel's message for yourself (see below), and also see a picture that was sent along with the email. (I did run the photo through PhotoShop to shrink it down in physical size and file size so that it would be allowed to go through the email distribution system.) Reference to Princess Christina is to a member of the royal family of The Netherlands -- Princess Maria Christina, who is the youngest of four daughters born to Queen regnant Juliana of the Netherlands and her Prince consort Bernhard of Lippe-Biesterfeld. Princess Christina had a particular interest in and talent for music. In other words, this is a "big deal" for Manolito to place first in this particular competition.

My message back to Manuel this morning was that his message put a huge smile on my face and in my heart -- for both of them. I know you will want to share in wishing both of them continued successes as they work together helping develop Manolito's musical skills. Manuel's email address is as shown, in case you want to write to them directly. And thank you to all who helped and encouraged them in this endeavor.

I understand that Manolito is learning the Dutch language, along with his native Spanish and good English skills.

Forwarded with joy,
Bud Huber

Hi all.

A few brief lines to inform you that last weekend was developed eastern Concours Cristhina Prinses in Enschede, Netherlands.
Manolito was presented with saxophone, winning first prize in its category.
He also won the audience prize, the prize master classes with the most prestigious Dutch saxophonist. and playing a saxophone concerto soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra of the Netherlands.
On 31 March, will participate in the next round to be held in Den Haag where he will have the opportunity to go to the grand final to be held on April 15 also in Den Haag.
He is currently preparing a piano concerto with an orchestra to play on March 24 and has an offer to play a saxophone concerto with an orchestra in Germany.
In June plans three concerts of piano and sax with components of the assembly of national wind instruments, these concerts are outdoors and are very famous in Holland.
I want to share my joy with you and keep you informed of the musical career of Manolito.
