[News Boquete] New Homeschooling Group for Boquete

I've started a new group for homeschoolers in the Boquete area.

We are a Panamanian/American family and though I've been travelling to Boquete for over twenty years, I've only moved permanently here in the last two months.  After a very short stint in the local school, we have decided that we need to go back to what works for us as a family; homeschooling.  We've been homeschooling for thirteen years, (if you include the baby years as learning starts from birth.)  I am also an educated teacher.  I started my family late, before kids came along I was a teacher in private schools, a sub in public schools, and an international student coordinator/interpreter.  Educating is a huge part of my life.  I am accustomed to being part of a large homeschooling community.  At one point I had over fifty homeschooling families coming to my house on a weekly basis for Spanish lessons.  I always had someone to turn to with questions or activity ideas.  Getting to Panama, I already new there was a lot of homeschooling happening, but I just couldn't find any group with community support.  Therefore, I have started a homeschooling group for Boquete and the surrounding area at http://boquete.ning.com/group/boquete-homeschoolers.

All new members will be screened before admittance to the group.  The library volunteers have given me a big thumbs up and they have joined the group.  We will be meeting at the library.  Anyone who wants to double check to be sure that I am who I say I am, (I completely understand as children are involved,) can check with the library.  Ask for Bonnie or Ellen or send a message to them at http://boquete.ning.com/profile/AmigosdeLaBibliotecaBoquete.  

I look forward to getting a real community going and having lots of adventures.
