[News Boquete] Boquete Ning Events Calendar

There has been an active debate on BoqueteNing.com about the use of the events calendar. Since the calendar is heavily used by individuals, organizations and businesses in Boquete I wanted to send this out to all people who might be interested.

After considering all opinions and consulting with Fran's dog and my cat, we have reached a consensus decision on the events column. Although we cannot edit the name which will remain events we have redefined events to ACTIVITIES.

Feel free to post anything with a duration of up to one week, if it is an activity. The final decision on what is an activity will be subjectively made by moderators. Activities include things people can do, including eating a special dinner on a Saturday night, or listening to a band, or hiking or bird watching or ...  Activities do not include Romero having a sale on tuna, unless my cat happens to be the moderator at the moment. 

The goal here is very simple we want a FREE events calendar that residents and tourists can use to find out what they can do on any given day. We do not want it mucked up with things that we subjectively feel will not be of interest to those looking for activities.

It has been suggested that it might be useful to the community to do a Tuesday Meeting on how to most effectively use BoqueteNing.com. If you would be interested in that topic for a meeting please email me or post it on ning.
