[News Boquete] A triumph once again at BCP - "Proof", another prize winning performance

The is no better way to be drawn back into Boquete than enjoy excellent theater at the BCP. Last night I attended the final rehearsal for Proof, you need to see the play.

Boquete's unique production of Proof begins with a Five Star verbal massage by our five star masseuse, Mark Perrin Jones. Only then did we, the audience, plunge into another prize winning play, one with a hint of madness.

Proof has a small powerful cast, two actresses, one actor and one ghost. They each perform their parts as professionals. The story is gripping.

The play focuses Catherine, the daughter of a recently deceased mathematical genius and professor at the University of Chicago. It shares her struggle with her own mathematical genius and fear of mental illness.

There is some humor, some passion and much to allow questions of who did what and when,  in the Proof. Proof as performed in Boquete will keep you glued to your seat as it spins toward it's not so inevitable conclusion.

Our cast was great, some now familiar faces in new roles.

Kelsey Kinzer in the key role as Catharine
Morgan Fraser as her sister Clair
Bill McGraw as Harold Dobbs
Jim Hatch as Robert

This is quality theater, a quality play and quality cast, with great support from all of those behind the curtains, your neighbors making this happen.

Awards
2001 Drama Desk Award for Best New Play
2001 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Play
2001 New York Drama Critics' Circle Best Play
2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama
2001 Tony Award for Best Play

Proof is playing this week. Matinees Wednesday (Today) and Sunday at 2PM. Evening performances Thursday, (tomorrow), Friday and Saturday at 8PM.

This season of the BCP has been the best I have been in Boquete. We the community, need to support our Community Theater. I personally have increased my commitment to offering to take on the role of Vice President for the next year. I urge you to support with your participation and attendance of still another production beyond what could ever be expected in a town the size of Boquete.
