CHANGES TO DRIVING LAWS AND FINES

 

Law # 36  Use of cell phone or  technological device which distracts the driver , 6 points, $300 fine, attendance at talk to reinstate.  THIS MEANS TEXTING.

Law #37  Not using seat belt.  6 points, $100 fine, attendance at talks and suspension of license for 6 months for reinstatement.

Law # 45  Driving with alcohol on the breath.  10 points, $200 fine, attendance at talks.

Law #46  Driving under the influence of alcohol or under the effects of narcotics, retention of license and vehicle.  Fine is not stated, probably determined by the judge. 

Law #51  Driving on the shoulder.  4 points, $200 fine.

Law #60  Running a red light.  8 points, $200 fine.

Law #66  Driving over the speed limit.  8 points, $150 fine and attendance at talks for reinstatement.

Law 50 a  Driving in a reserved lane (like fire trucks, police) 4 points, $150  fine, attendance at talks.
