Ernest's Introduction below.

DO NOT MISS  this rare opportunity! Just 2 hours from Boquete.

I am Ernest Minnema, a BSc. in Wildlife Management and herpetology, canopy climbing and wildlife photography are my passions. During my education I have been able to travel to some of the most remote and biologically diverse areas of the world. The absolute culmination of these travels has been my BSc. thesis project in the Brazilian Amazon. While I provided jungle tours for the visitors and conducted my visitor education research, I was able to spend many hours in the impressive Brazilian rain forest. As the largest tract of tropical rain forest, the Amazonian rain forests have unparalleled biodiversity. One in ten known species in the world live in the Amazonian rain forests, which constitutes the largest collection of living plants and animal species in the world. Despite this high biodiversity, the rain forest of the Brazilian Amazon doesn't provide easy views of its abundant animal life. For many species chances of encounters are increased by just residing in one location for an extended period of time. The sense of connectedness to the world and all living things in it one experiences in these moments of tranquility in the rain forest have not been paralleled to present.

After my experience in the Amazon rain forest, I decided I would make it my life's work to become a contributor to conservation in the tropics. Every opportunity I had, I traveled to remote areas of the world working as a volunteer, guiding tourists and helping conservation projects in a variety of ways. Having always enjoyed the knowledge transfer concerning wildlife and ecology I decided to get a BSc in biology teaching to increase my skill set. I packed my bags and started travelling the world working as a field assistant and rainforest guide on a variety of projects in Australia, Costa Rica and Panama.

Arriving at Rambala Jungle Lodge felt a bit like a homecoming.

This beautiful place tucked away in a valley on the Caribbean side of the country is run in a very sustainable way by two of the most lovely people I have met on my extensive travels. Rambala Jungle Lodge gives me the possibility to experience the forest in a way I was only used to by setting up my hammock. But now I have the relative luxury of a bed, a roof, a shower and a kitchen. It is
 only

that I already have some projects commitments in the near future, otherwise they would have to chase me out of here with a machete.
