[News Boquete] Again, many, many thanks

Growing up, I heard more than once that you can never say "Thank You" too many times...when it is deserved. In this case, there is no doubt.

I realized after last week's Tuesday Morning Meeting, where I saw many friends that I had not seen since returning from the states, that there were still many people that I had not had a chance to thank in person. For all of those who helped and wished me well, I would like to provide this brief update. I stayed for three weeks with a friend in Indianapolis where I was seen and treated at the St. Vincent Heart Center. I received excellent care, and two procedures were performed. The first was a catheterization, which identified five blockages in coronary arteries. The second procedure was an angioplasty to open the areas narrowed by plaque, and a total of three stents were placed in critical places. Two of the obstructions were at the 95% level, and one of those in the major artery serving the left ventricle (the artery often called "the widow maker"). It became clear to me how urgently this procedure was needed. It would be fair, I believe, to call it life saving. And yes, I am feeling much better than when you saw me a couple of months ago. It was the generosity of this community that made all of this possible, and I am grateful beyond words. And I have been grateful to see this generous spirit appear again for other friends in need. From the bottom of my much healthier heart, THANK YOU, BOQUETE COMMUNITY!
