And now you have the opportunity to learn it for yourself! I have one spot left in my Beginning Encaustic Workshop on Thursday, April 11th. The first student to contact me and reserve the spot, gets the spot. Act now!
GOALS OF THE SINGLE-DAY WORKSHOPS
Students of all abilities and levels are invited to learn about encaustic painting in history and its contemporary processes.
Topics covered include:
• selecting appropriate grounds
• fusing tools and fusing layers
• using techniques such as embedding, accretion, intaglio and others.
Throughout the day we will discuss resources for setting up and maintaining a home encaustic workshop. The four hours are intensive, but highly enjoyable. Students will leave the hands-on workshop with their own 10" x 10" encaustic painting and a solid foundation with which to further explore this unique medium. In addition, you will have learned how to handle supplies and find out which tools best suit your needs; you will have become proficient and confident in handling these artist materials and you will develop your creativity as it relates to this medium. By the end of the day, you will learn the techniques used in these three paintings:
DATE AND TIME OF THIS SINGLE-DAY WORKSHOP
Enrollment is limited to 4 participants per workshop. The smaller class size, the better of an experience for you! This workshop is from from 10 am to 2 pm (with an optional 1-hour extra for finishing up work). This spot will fill fast, so I recommend quick action. Workshops are held in Studio Monte Verde, in my home in Alto Lino -- just north of downtown. Map, driving directions and workshop details will be sent upon registration.
Fee: $50 plus $15 materials fee = $65 total. Prepayment is required to hold your spot. Email me at robyncole25@gmail.com.
I hope to see you there!
Robyn Cole
