Call for action
Dear Jazz & Blues lovers in the Boquete area,
preparations for another great Jazz&Blues festival in February 2016 are well on their way. With an absolutely stellar line-up the 2016 festival promises to be the best ever. A huge amount of work has already been invested on artist contracts, on re-organizing the legal framework and other details. Online ticket sales are scheduled to start soon.
We are already getting a lot of inquiries from people in the US, Canada and elsewhere who want to buy tickets and book their flights.
Everything was looking good – until a few days ago.
On July 28 Steve Bliss, the president of our Jazz&Blues Festival Foundation who had committed to run the 2016 festival together with John Wolff, suddenly resigned from his post by sending a two-line email, no reasons given, and has ever since refused to respond to any efforts to contact him. He simply abandoned the festival out-of-the-blue.
John Wolff, who is living in the Coronado area, is not willing to give up and cancel the festival. But he can't do it alone. He needs local help to pull it through.
We need a core group of 2 – 3 volunteers who are willing to devote a good part of their time to tackle the most immediate tasks to save the 2016 festival!
If you are interested in making BJBF2016 happen,
if you think that it would be a shame to let this wonderful event die after all the work that has been invested during the last 4 years
if you think that the Boquete Jazz&Blues festival is too great an event to let it go down the drain,
then please come and join us for a volunteer meeting to discuss the options.
Your help is needed now…or else there won't be a 2016 festival in Boquete!
When: Saturday, August 8, 1pm
Where: Oasis restaurant
