Hey, all you jazzin' and bluesin' babies in Boquete and beyond, here's the news y'all have been waiting for:


Tickets for the Boquete Jazz&Blues Festival are now on sale at:

 

Mailboxes ETC. in Boquete

Feria de las Flores y del Cafe

Valle Escondido hotel

Tuesday market

 

Ticketprices are:

$ 20 one-day ($ 5 for students and juniors below 18)

$ 30 for a 2-day pass ($ 7.50 for students and juniors)   

(valid ID's for students and minors required for admission!

$ 13 for the special concert with Jazz Lady Betty Bryant at
        the BCP on Thursday evening, March1st

 

Here's the program of the open-air festival at the Valle Escondido amphitheatre (subject to change):

 Saturday, March 3:

12noon – 1pm  Betty Bryant, L.A.'s very special Jazz Lady

1:30 – 2:30      Smoking Time Jazz Club from New Orleans

3pm – 4pm      Mitch Woods, Boogie Woogie at it's best

4:30 – 5:30pm Saskia Laroo and Jazzkia, hot Latin Jazz
                        from the Netherlands

6pm -7pm       The award-winning Andy Egert Blues band (Switzerland) with
                       special guest Bob Stroger from Chicago on
                       bass
 (Blues Awards winner 2009 and 2010)

Sunday, March 4:

12 noon – 1pm  Ron Hacker, deep down, dirty blues from San Francisco

1:30 – 2:30pm  Carlos Ubarte, Panama's most sought-after sax player releasing his new CD at our festival!

3pm – 4:30pm  Johnny Sansone (New Orleans) & Mitch Woods (San Francisco),
                         Jump-Blues & Zydeco, backed up by Boquete's
                         own B3 Blues band

5pm – 6:30pm  Rigoberto Coba's Big Band. A special treat
                         with Chiriqui's best jazz musicians getting
                         together for our festival only!

Plus a host of other great activities on Thursday and Friday, March 1 and 2:

A New Orleans style street parade on Thursday afternoon followed by a show at the Panamonte hotel with New Orleans import Smoking Time Jazz Club, flown in directly from the French quarter's Royal street

Free concert in the park on Friday afternoon hosted by the Boquete Blues Band

After parties/jam sessions in various local venues from Thursday to Saturday.
