Second offering of the season a dynamic, classic play A RAISIN IN THE SUN, an adaptation.  Winner of four TONY awards in 1959 this play catapulted the career of Sidney Poitier. This adaptation is the story of a Latino family living in the South Side of Chicago in the early 1960’s. Not being a well-to-do family, they struggle to survive economically and to overcome the bigotry against minorities that prevailed at the time.  Nevertheless they have dreams, hope and expectations that would change their individual and collective lives.
