Hola Friends of Bid 4 Boquete:
Here's the news:
1) We have a new batch of Bid 4 Boquete t-shirts with colors (yellow, lime green, dark green, tan, gray, black, white). Still only $10
2) We have 356 items in the Auction Gallery. Get the bidding started by bidding low. Who knows . . . . you might get a very good bargain. We've also created some specialty albums:
Lawyers & Architects
Resorts, Hotels, Hostels, & Restaurants
Art & Jewelry
Fun Things To Do
3) We've sold out the wine tasting tickets but often there are a few cancellations and we can sell a few more tickets. Check with us if you want to be on the waiting list.
4) We have organized a very special Saturday night raffle. This consists of a basket of wines and liquors donated by Canavaggio S.A, a certificate for a luxury resort hotel in Pedasi (donated by Villa Camilla), a $25 certificate at a local fine dining restaurant (donated by Casona Del Cuzco) and a bag of Ruiz gourmet Geisha coffee. The total value of the basket is over $250. The winner will be drawn at the live auction on Saturday, Feb 11 but you don't have to be present to win. You can buy your ticket at the Tuesday Boquete Market or at the live auction. Tickets are $3 each or 2 for $5.
5) We have a 2nd raffle where the winner will be drawn on Sunday at the Grand Fiesta in the Boquete Fairgrounds. The winning ticket gets to take home a brand new Samsung Mini Refrigerator with a 7.4 cubic foot capacity. This prize was kindly donated by the Waddington Family. Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5 and you don't have to be present to win. They will be for sale at the Tuesday Market and also at the Arco Iris room of the fairgrounds starting at 12 noon on Sunday, Feb 12.
6) We are having a "pick up" day at the Tuesday market on January 31. Alicia and her truck will be parked near the entrance to the market and you can bring all of your venta de patio items and put them into her truck on that day. We will also accept silent auction items, cash donations, auction item bids, t-shirt sales, etc that day and every day. Bid 4 Boquete has a table at the front of the hex room of the market.
7) We have a new "Angel" Sponsor. Banco Nacional, the government bank of Panama has pledged $3000 to Bid for Boquete. We are very happy and humbled to have such a nice donation.
8) For the first time this year we are also having an Art Show and Sale sponsored by the Boquete Artworks group. More than 30 local artists have donated more than 50 pieces of their artwork and jewelry and all proceeds will go to Bid 4 Boquete. The Show/Sale opens at 10 AM on Saturday, Feb 11 in the BCP lounge. It closes at 5 pm and then opens again at 7 pm for a private showing for people holding wine tasting and live auction tickets.
9) For Sunday, February 12th we've arranged for a number of sales venues including our very popular (and huge) venta de patio. We're also selling local crafts, plants, baked goods, books, etc. Browse the 300+ items of the silent auction and take home a bargain or two. The food will be outstanding -- Panamanian tipico food prepared by the ladies of the Handicap Foundation, and gringo food prepared by the Cajun duo Brenda and Bert. And games and face painting for the kids and photos for kids of all ages. The doors open at 12 noon at Salon Arco Iris in the Boquete Fair Grounds.
That's all for now. More later.
