On Sunday, the 26th of February, we were able to sterilize another 80 animals in our small temporary clinic
located in the Amigos de Boquete office; 35 cats and 45 dogs, including a mom and her 5 Pups,
2 of whom were so anemic that hey had to be transfused on the spot.
Thanks to Vicki Whittle, the whole family can recover in peace as she has agreed to foster them all.
However, she needs help from March 1 – 5 as she cannot keep them for those days.
Please contact her at vickiwhittle@me.com or 6758 7167 if you can help.
Thanks to our many volunteers, the day went very well. We had 6 wonderful vets from
Costa Rica and one from Panama to do the surgeries.
We give a special salute to our "animal collectors" who take care of Potrerillos, Caldera, Boquete,
Palmira, and El Flor, as they brought in many of the animals that were sterilized.
Doug Tyler has volunteered to coordinate transportation and can be contacted directly at 6799-7855.
If you can supply a truck or driver for the animal pick ups for future clinics, let Doug know.
Many thanks to Nairn Kennedy and Theresa Joyce for their food contributions, always enjoyed and
appreciated. And thanks also to Theresa for washing our linens.
We have a new appointment secretary, Giovy Rojas. She can be reached at 6563-8686 boqueteanimales@gmail.com,
same number and email as before. Please call her to set up appointments for the next clinic which will take place on
Sunday March 25 at the Amigos de Boquete office.
As new co-Presidents, we are discovering just how much Ruby did all by herself at every clinic and
indeed every day of the year. Please bear with us as we learn together and with you all we will continue to make a
HUGE difference in animal welfare in Boquete and our surrounding communities!
