Bid4Boquete Has Biggest Year Ever
More Money Raised=More Money Given Out

Boquete, Panama – The Bid4Boquete Foundation is celebrating the largest fundraising effort in its seven-year history.  The 2013/2014 record-breaking events ended the weekend of March 1^st. and 2^nd, grossing $98,327, making it the best year ever for the umbrella charity organization.

The totals do not include any of the direct or indirect expenses but it is clear that many more people will benefit from the money raised from this year-long, volunteer-only effort.

The dollars were raised from plant sales, the wine tasting, the live and silent auctions, the Venta de Patio clothing and housewares sales, the children’s games, the bake sale and all food and drink receipts as well as raffle sales.  This does not include additional revenue from auction items sold but not yet paid for which is expected to add another $2000.00 to the total of over $100,000.

“This record breaking year means more people in need in Boquete will be helped,” says co-chair, Penelope Barrett.  “We are thrilled,” says Barrett, “because the number of less fortunate is greater than ever.  This community has really embraced Bid4Boquete and we owe everyone our gift of thanks for the generosity shown this year.”

 “The list of volunteers is in the hundreds,” says co-chair, Anayansi Menendez.  “This is a massive effort on the part of so many people: from grand sponsors, to workers, to merchant donors, to cupcake bakers, to photographers and to the shoppers.  We all work together to make this a success.  The result is the warmth of knowing we live in a caring community as rich in spirit as it is in beauty. Thank you to everyone, we can’t do it without you.”

A total of eleven local charities last year shared both large and small grants totaling more than $77,000.  The Foundation Board will be accepting applications for the 2014 funding process only until March 25^th.   The applications for consideration should be submitted to: Bid4Boquete@gmail.com.
