Juana is  48 years old and became a  widow when she was pregnant with the youngest of her 4 children.  Lorenis is 16, Emedita 8, Angela 6 and Alex 14. Juana is hearing impaired but works part time doing laundry in town 3 miles away. She also helps with  caring for her elderly father who deaf and has advanced Alzhiemers. They live in a small 2 room wooden house in the country. Alex and Lorenis do farm work when not in school to help out. They are a cheerful and loving family, greatly appreciating the "comida gringas" monthly visit.
