Today at 3:00 at the BCP our photo club has a great speaker and you might be interested in coming to meet him--it is an open meeting. Dirck is one of the best photojournalists of all time and he has incredible stories to rell. He took the infamous photo of Clinton hugging Monica. Below is an announcement I sent out to the club...
We are honored to have award winning photojournalist, Dirck Halstead, speak at our meeting about his incredibly interesting career. Dirck has won countless awards and recognition nationally and internationally and has had more photos on the cover of Time Magazine than any other photographer--he was 17 years old when his first photo made the cover. Dirck's photography career took him all over the world for almost five decades during which he photographed wars, presidents, and movie stars, and captured thousands of moments in time. He was assigned to the Whitehouse for almost 20 years during which time he came to know the presidents and their families.
This promises to be an interesting presentation so I hope you will all attend and bring your family and friends. Even folks not particularly interested in photography will enjoy Dirck's stories and experiences--he is funny, introspective, and has seen so much through the eye of his camera.
