[News Boquete] Education Rally in Boquete on March 30th.

My name is Pat Parris. I am an administrator and teacher at PA Leadership Charter School and a personal friend of Jose Renan Esquivel. I have also worked with Lisa Quinn, Maria Ruiz, and Geovana Caballero on this project for the past eight years.

 

The Student Leadership Department at PA Leadership Charter School will be traveling to Panama again this year for 14 days. This year's trip will feature an education rally which we hope to hold on Sunday March 30^th. Our students will perform a mime skit at the rally. We will also be creating and distributing tri-lingual coloring books at the rally, and in indigenous missions like Padre Adonai's mission in San Felix and neighboring villages like Oma, and Las Cruces. We also plan to visit Dr. Alan Handt's mission near Volcancito. We are requesting your attendance at an education rally near the gazebo in the town center from 2-4 PM on March 30th.  Our six students will be learning Spanish and visiting local businesses to ask for donations of food, beverages, coolers, paper plates, cups, napkins, tables, and plastic utensils. We call the rally "A Taste of Boquete" because we distribute food from local restaurants who have donated it. We hope to do this again this year. We have developed a web site that allows us to communicate with our friends in Panama, and will help you to follow our adventure. Blog2/palcs.org/panama We will be promoting this trip to the 2800 students, families, faculty and staff at our school as well as local media in Pennsylvania. We have already secured the cost of printing 300 coloring books and crayons to distribute. If you would like to perform during our rally please contact me at pparris@palcs.org. We would love to have local talent involved. We are also in need of a sound system for that afternoon. We really appreciate your help.
