[News Boquete] Boquete and the Magical night of Canta Comigo with young Ana Elisa

For those of us in Boquete Square that night it was unforgettable. The Mayor had thousands of white chairs provided and Many more of us were standing.

The big Finale of "Conmigo" a singing contest was beamed in from Panama City on 4 huge jumbo tron screens.

Three contestants were still in the running and one was Boquete's own. The signs for Ana Elisa had blanketed the town.

The music filled the parque and beyond.....everyone was dancing and hoping that "our' star would Win.

As the show played out it came down to 2 young ladies. They sang once again.

The judges gave their comments, the public phoned in their votes

Finally at 11:00pm the Winner of "Canta Comigo" was going to be announced. The tension was truly palpable as this huge crowd was completely silent.....

They announced "Ana Elisa"!!! and downtown Boquete erupted! Fireworks lit the sky and joy lit all the faces. So many hugs and so much pride in her accomplishment. We will never forget that night in 2008.

Ana Elisa later appeared as "Annie" in the Broadway show at BCP. She also appeared there to sing "Conmigo" a song written by a resident, Squirt James, and to treat us with "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". She is a special young lady to this community.

Now, more grown up , she revisits the BCP Stage in the upcoming "Cabaret 2" Show.

She has committed her talent and time to once again being on our stage.

I can't wait to see her again.
