On Sunday June 29, we spayed or neutered 155 animals, 114 dogs and 41 cats. Even though that number is significantly lower than last month's and right where we feel comfortable, it was a very long day: many of us worked along with the vets from 7:30am until 9pm. We had expected 4 vets but only 3 were able to make it to this clinic. Add into that a large number of complications, and you have a long difficult day.
Many people had to wait for hours and we truly thank them for their patience. Our appointment schedule is not an exact science at best, but when things come up, the vets – like any good doctors – take the time needed to help the animal that is in distress. It might wreak havoc on the schedule, but our first concern is for the health and safety of the animals that are entrusted to us.
Many thanks to our fabulous food providers: Nancy with her breakfast and now brownies (more please!), Nairn with lunch, Heidi from Mike's with the pizzas, Roberto Marciacq with the best lettuce in
As always. thank you to our volunteers who work so hard at each clinic. We have the best volunteers – and vets – in the world!
Next clinic will be Sunday July 27, same time, same place. For an appointment, contact Yasmin at 6563-8686 or boqueteanimales@gmail.com. You must have an appointment as we are trying to limit our numbers at each clinic to a level that will allow the vets and volunteers to work safely. We can't wait to be in our new home, hopefully by January 2015.
