BOQUETE HOSPICE AND HEALTH FOUNDATION is aware that there are people in our community who are full-time caregivers for a family member.   This is a huge responsibility, and, although it has its satisfactions and the reward of fulfilling a commitment to a loved one, full-time caregiving can be physically and emotionally draining at times. 

 

Getting together with other people who are in the same situation has been proven to help sustain the mental and emotional health of those who participate.  Talking with others who understand what you are experiencing on a daily basis can often help in numerous ways:  getting issues out in the open can offer a new light on them;  you can get tips and strategies from other caregivers, lessons from their own experiences that you may be able to use; you'll know you are not alone in your struggles; and being part of a supportive, cohesive group is a way of you getting something back for all that you are giving out.
