Greetings Fellow Humanitarians!
Are you talented? Are you passionate? Do you want to make a difference? Then we need you at The Starfish Teen Centre!
We are currently looking for volunteers who want to share their skills, talents and passions with our teens. For example this could include classes, interactive activities or outdoor field trips. Both English and Spanish languages are welcome.
The Starfish Teen Centre has been running for almost 6 months and has over 70 local teenagers registered. During this time teens have been regularly attending English classes taught by native English speakers, home work club and activities based on human rights, citizenship and social entrepreneurship. There is also an established teen council, a scholarship scheme and a mentor/services program.
The Starfish Teen Centre is a haven for young people. The Centre provides a safe, social and supportive environment, bringing together teens from all different backgrounds all over the Boquete area. Being positively engaged in the Centre has not only helped the teens themselves but also their families, some of whom do not have the time or money to give their children extra opportunities. It has also helped the community of Boquete where the teens have contributed their time to projects such as cleaning up litter and community events such as Bid 4 Boquete.
